BRANDON SHELTON; FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

Brandon Shelton is a strategy leader, a problem solver and a relationship builder. He led the grassroots effort that became Task Force X, a driven network of experts and advisors that evaluate talent and develop entrepreneurs and businesses. A veteran entrepreneur himself, Brandon first founded T2 Growth Advisors to help teams design and activate strategic frameworks to reach their goals.

Brandon developed his financial, strategic and operational skills through various experiences in high intensity and change environments from the military after 9/11 to Wall Street in 2008. Using military principles, Brandon helped client teams grow while a partner at a boutique strategy consulting firm with his largest client hiring him to drive growth, expansion and technology changes at a multi-billion dollar company in North America. Brandon founded T2 Growth Advisors to connect these skills to startups and small businesses. He also is a Board Director at NAVSO, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of veterans and military families and a Board Director at StreetShares Foundation, America’s small business funding community.

Cindi Basenspiler, Founder and Managing Director for UpShot Inc.

Cindi is the Founder and Managing Director for UpShot Inc. Cindi recently served as the Executive Director for Charlotte Bridge Home, a leading, high-growth Veteran non-profit. Prior to joining CBH, she was VP of of Human Resources Operations at Time Warner Cable and two other for-profit organizations. She has an extensive corporate background that includes expertise in human resources, organizational development, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance metrics and organizational change management. Cindi served as an enlisted soldier and officer in the United States Army. As a Captain, she designed, implemented and managed multiple aviation maintenance programs for military helicopters and transport vehicles, leading 100+ soldiers, officers and civilians. She is a trained CH-47D (Chinook) and UH-1 (Huey) helicopter pilot. She served two tours in South Korea as well as Fort Rucker, Fort Sill and Fort Carson. Cindi holds a MBA from the University of Colorado and a BA from the University of South Alabama. She is SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), PMP (Project Management Professional), Lean Six Sigma (Process Improvement) and Black Belt certified.

Jeff Leck, Partner KLH Capital

Jeff is a co-founder and partner of KLH Capital, where he shares responsibility for guiding the firm’s investment decisions and serves on the boards of all portfolio companies. During his career, he has successfully identified, facilitated, and invested in more than 130 lower-middle market businesses. Jeff co-founded Florida Capital Partners (FCP) with John Kirtley in 1988 in Tampa, Florida. At this institutionally backed investment firm, one of the earliest to focus on lower-middle market companies with EBITDA of $2 – $8 million, he was directly responsible for successfully investing in more than 100 small businesses through recapitalizations, management buy-outs and buy-ins, family successions, and other ownership transactions. Jeff earned a BS from the University of Virginia, where he has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the McIntire School of Commerce Foundation since 2009.

Pat Connelly, Partner Intervale Capital

Patrick is a partner at Intervale Capital. Patrick’s interest in the energy industry grew out of his active duty military service as an infantry officer in the US Army. Before joining Intervale in 2015, he supported the development of numerous oilfield service companies as a Managing Director at SCF Partners, an energy focused private equity fund, and as a senior member of management at Forum Energy Technologies (NYSE: FET). At Forum, he oversaw a range of strategic initiatives, including Forum’s initial public offering. Patrick earned a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated at the top of his class. He also earned a MBA from Harvard Business School and a MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

Mark is an engineer and entrepreneur who loves the creative, chaotic excitement of launching a new company. Mark began his career in the wireless industry and was part of the founding team at four startups, including Telecorp PCS, which was acquired by AT&T in 2002. Mark co-founded Acta Wireless in 2004 with Alan MacIntosh and led its investments in LaunchBox Digital, CardStar, Imagine K12 and Actium Advisors. Mark was also instrumental in Acta’s founding role in Montreal Startup and Real Ventures. Mark serves on the board of directors of Actium Advisors, Causemo, ChallengeU, Just Push Pay, Oohlala Mobile, the Mobile Giving Foundation, NextNav, Sweet Relish, and WaveMetrix. Earlier in his career, Mark served as an officer in the United States Air Force during the first Gulf War. He holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 


Garth Moulton, SVP of Business Development Pipl

In addition to advising and investing in a growing number of technology startups, Garth is responsible for driving revenue through the channel and strategic brands for Pipl, Inc. After spending 11 years in sales in the Bay Area, Garth co-founded Jigsaw.com where he ran sales, business development, client support, and the customer community. The venture resulted in a $175MM sale to Salesforce.com in 2010. The following year, Garth co-founded a social TV/Second Screen company called OtherScreen in Charlotte, NC. OtherScreen won a NC IDEA grant, created a buzz in the local TV market, had wildly happy users and raised venture capital money before failing to gain significant traction and closing in November 2012. In 2013-14, Garth managed all things customer related for CircleBack, a company he invested in and continues to advise. Garth earned a BA in history and economics from Brown University.

Marc Murphy, Chief Executive Officer at ATLATL

Marc is the Chief Executive Officer at ATLATL, an emerging leader in the sales process software market. Most recently, Murphy was CEO at SPARC LLC, and led the firm’s software and services division. During his tenure as CEO, Murphy focused on the company’s operational efficiencies and business practices, paving the way for significant business growth and success.  Marc oversaw all strategy and operations of SPARC’s Agile software development services, including several projects worth a combined value of over $50M. His guidance led SPARC to a successful exit to Fortune 500 Company Booz Allen Hamilton in 2015. Prior to joining SPARC, Marc was a technology practice partner at Deloitte Consulting. Marc has an undergraduate degree from Bucknell University and a Master of Science from American University. He was a commissioned officer in the United States Army, is Ranger qualified, and completed his service obligation at the rank of Captain.
